Patient Thoughts...

I keep thinking about what I want from life, what I want to be "when I grow up", where I want to be. I long to find my own style, my own creative voice, to stop on one thing and learn to do it well. I dream about my own future, yet try to be more concrete with it, kind of choose a direction which I want every aspect of my life to go.
At the same time, as a Christian, I want to put it into God's hands and trust in His plan, instead of trying to force something that is not meant to be.
Patience - is one of the most important things to learn in life! People who lack it do reckless things, and then regret them.
As I write this I realize that the right thing would be to continue trying to learn what you want to learn, do everything you can to achieve what you want to achieve - and the opportunity will come, when you are ready for it. Just have to be patient!
Oh how I love how God always has an answer for me as soon as I need it!

I Am Tiered!

I am tiered and stressed out. This is how I start my post, because it fully explains what is going on in my life right now. School and work are eating my brain! I get a two day weekend and three tests next week - is that fair?

Four years ago today I have met my Evgeny. Isn't this amazing - I had no idea we would turn out the way we did, well I knew a couple of days from then, but not at that moment (hehe). You would think that following this statement there would be a long tale of how we spent our wonderful day, but nope, we were so tiered the best we could do is drink hot tea with condensed milk together (did you know it is the best thing ever - tea and condensed milk?..) and have half decent conversation... Well this is life for you - not everything is perfect. After I managed to knit a bit while finishing my tea...
knitting and tea

Then had some avocado with crackers and I am off to bed.

P.S. I am dreaming of the day when I can do what I enjoy - photography (I need more light, by the time I get home, it is so dark... well you can see that I am not good in dealing with lighting problems...), crafts, and hanging out with my family... When is this going to happen?..

Whens and Ifs...

When I will have my house, I will have lots of open cabinets around the kitchen where I would put lots of beautiful and colorful plates, cups and pots! Like these:

I can't wait to have lots of money so that I can do what I want! :)))))

I have been thinking hard on presents for THE holiday of the year that is coming up! I have some good ideas, but can't share them yet, because someone might read them and it would be no fun!

Also today we have couples dinner with Marsel and Cameron which should be yum yum and fun fun! Can't wait! It is so awesome to have a friend who is as married as you are and is as young as you are at the same time! (haha)

P.S. all the pictures are from anthropologie of course! :)

If Only...

If I would have the money, I would right now move to a red brick house in Pennsylvania and have lots of kids!

Oh how I wish I could do that!

Having Christmases with the snow and enjoying the golden season of fall, having sun light in our rooms that doesn't kill all the plants and having a perfect house of our own... with a red brick fire place and book shelves all arround it and a soft rug with pillows by it, so that I can read all the wonderful books to my babies by the fire... A kitchen in a country stile with nice white wooden cabinettes and a cieling rack for utensiles, where I could make delicious meals for my family that we all could then enjoy in a sunlit diningroom, with a view of green and more green outside... With a big enough bathtub that I can actually fit in and enjoy a cup of tea and a nice book... With a little garden in our back yard, where we could grow our little fruits and all the greens without sprinkles and artificial soil, where trees are large and green and give lots of shade for my babies to play in... With a little room of my own where I could create and enjoy the creativity within me... With an attick that my husband dreams about for his projects...

This doesn't even feel like a dream, it is almost like a plan! I only hope that God doesn't mind this plan and is going to help me with it!

Oh, what is one to do when she is obsessed with an idea that seems so unrealistic?.. I barely can think of anything esle...
P.S. The picture is from www.realtor.com and is of an actual house in PA for sale. Isn't it lovely? This is everything I could ever dream for!

Long Sleeves, Hot Tea, and Photo Albums

You know what I realized today? I missed long sleeves so much! It was so hot for so long, I never had a chance to wear one, but today it finally got cooler and I could put on one of my favorite. It makes me feel cozy and warm when it is cold and I am all wrapped. This is the time to drink hot yummy tea with chocolate and dream about the future, and write a bit depressed stories about rainy days...

I was on the lookout for a good big cup for my tea drinking, and could not find the one I liked, but today I stumbled upon it at last, while walking around Pier One. I love the texture it has to it, the size and as soon as I learn how to knit, I am hoping to make a lovely cozy for it! Tea makes my life easier and warmer and is definitely a mood booster!

Yesterday I took some time off studying and went to shop for an album for my scrap booking (which I haven't done for quite some time). I bought two albums:

- one for our wedding pictures.
album1

- and one for our honeymoon trip.
album2

I am excited to begin the process, but barely have time to order the prints!
I have so many plans for that half a year break I am going to get in 2.5 month! Guess what I want to do? Take some classes in college. Oh yes. :))) Never a break in this life. But I am going to take the ones that I always wanted to: photoshop, photography, and web design! Can't wait!

That is all for now.

Bread and More Bread!

Ever since we got that bread maker we have been making all kinds of bread. It smells so delicious in our house all the time! Yesterday I made the perfect loaf of bread! Today I made one for my mommy.
So you already guessed that you will see lots of bread on my blog now. :)

In Ukraine bread is treated with respect and frankly it is a lot better there than here... That is why having a yummy loaf of bread is a mood booster for us.

Butterfly Wings and Wolf Tails

Everyday after school, work, and all the homework I can fit in, I get about two hours of rest. Pure rest when I can do whatever I want. Now the trick is that because by the time I allow myself to rest it is about 10:00pm, I simply don't have strength to do much, so I watch movies or cartoons, or play one of my favorite games - Little Big Planet with one of my favorite people - my husband.
Now considering that I don't get much time for myself I pick my activities carefully, so Little Big Planet is not just a game, it is in fact the game of the year and there are many reasons for that. I love the way it is funny, creative, the music is soothing yet fun, there is no violence, no prejudice, it is colorful and just a perfect world of dreamy sack people.
I have my own costume in the game that I feel describes me perfectly. It is bizarre and fun and I love it. The most thought out part of the costume, besides the Russian hat, grey trench coat, and pilot glasses, is the wolf tail and the butterfly wings.
Why? Well first of all it looks funny, second is because that is how I kinda feel. The wings would describe the way I look - skinny, fragile, porcelain, young (people give me 14, no more, it's funny now that I am married...). Yet the wolf tail is how I feel - I am a fighter with a strong core and straight forward beliefs, agenda, and policy, I am also regretfully known for sweeping people off their feet with my straight-forwardness and internal strength.
Anyways, the school has been harsh on me, but I am doing good so fare, thanks God, and after all there are only three more month to go and I am done!.. until next semester anyways...
Hope you all have a great day, week, year, and life over all!

We Are Afraid But We Have Hope

Sometimes I think that I am afraid to bring kids to this crazy world. This world is broken, full of lies, the core values are upside down. I predict farther spread of immorality and persecution for anyone who stands against it. Sometimes I am scared. Most of the time I feel shame for the human race.

The only thing that is left is to hope that my husband and I would be able to place enough God into our kids' hearts so that they would be able to sort things out. So that their ears would listen and be able to hear, and their eyes would look and be able to see.

Salads Are Like Life

She really likes salads - fruit salads, hot salads, cold salads, exotic salads, even simple garden salads would do. She also likes flowers, but this is another story...
Salads are the way she can taste her own creativity - she enjoys trying new combinations, although for late dinner choice it is always some kind of a simple garden salad with lettuce, tomatoes, spinach, sometimes avocados, anions, graded cheese and something crunchy. Oh and of course dressing. Like any self respecting salad eater, she has at least three or four dressings in her refrigerator, but really eats only her favorite - Ranch. On occasion there is also self invented dressing that goes especially well with a self created combination of vegetables, nuts and some time fruits.

Salads remind her of life itself. It always amuses her how bitter, sweet, sour, or anything in between, can all come together to form a perfect unison of taste, smell, and texture. Life is like that, she thought while preparing a "good night" salad, there are sweet experiences, some are bitter, some you wouldn't even try if you had a choice, but mix it all together, add some nice dressing and you get yourself some fresh and appetizing life, served on the table of this world.

While consuming her "good night" salad, she smiled as a tingling sense of satisfaction ran through her taste buds and her mind - the salad was good and she was quite satisfied with the simile she made between her salad and her life...

She also liked similes...

Fall Preparations

I am all ready for Fall! Can't you tell? My blog went through a couple of changes to reflect that. Let me know if you like it!
The camera on the header picture is my new addition to my vintage camera collection. Isn't it great?! I love the way it looks, one of my favorite items! So fare I have 3 cameras in my collection - all Polaroid (next one is going to be a cool film camera, I promise!)

It is getting cooler here in Vegas, but I am not expecting it to be nice and Autumny around. However a little further from this Summer heat, I will go up the mountains to shoot some Autumn there, with some film camera! Can't wait!

Hope everyone has a grand weekend! And happy first day of school/ college/ university!

The Day I Have Been Waiting For!

Wonderful things happened today! Some things that I have been patiently (well, sometimes maybe not so patiently) waiting for years to happen! Today is the day that finally came. I passed my citizenship appointment and the date for my inauguration is August 13th (yep, Friday the 13th I will become one of you people! :) )AND we got our wedding date - August 22nd! In 3 weeks! We better get moving, you think, well we are loving but humble people and are not planning to have a big wedding, in fact we are keeping it all for ourselves. So we are almost ready!

When I got home, I felt tiered, so I turned on my favorite Yann Tiersen through my cute penguin speakers hooked up to my ipod, and made some yummy blueberry cake using this deliciously illustrated recipe - check out the website, it is the best cooking place ever - I love her blog, love her photos, love her son, and it's just an amazing source of culinary inspiration!

It was a joyful activity, I mean listen to this music...

...now imagine the sun shinig through your windows, a nice apron and the smell of vanilla, bluebrries, butter, orange rind... eh, I love theraputical cooking!

Here are some pictures from the process...

I have been reading my fellow bloggers' impressions from attending the Renegade Craft Fair and it made me want to make something with my hands worth buying even more then before. I realize that mainly it is all in the idea. I mean look at these shoes.! They sell them in Europe for $250! They are about $10 to make. A GREAT idea though! I want a pair!

So I keep brainstorming and thinking weather I can some day be a part of this very appealing to me group of successful bloggers/Etsy vendors/just plain interesting people... Well, I got ways to go, but I got time too, the earlier you strat the better you get, right?

Well this was a relatively long post, but I just wanted to share some things...
Cheers!

Feeling Vintage

Feeling kind of vintage today. Maybe it is because I have been searching for vintage pearl jewelery for half a day, or maybe it is because I've read this article today about Merilyn Monroe's house going on sale. By the way! This house is amazing! I am so building myself one like that in Vegas, when I get a chance! They sell it for 3.5 million, but I bet to build a new one just like it, would be no more than $500 000. I mean look at this! It is everything I ever wanted - small but cozy, natural, filled with light (the roof window in the kitchen is an amazing idea...)!

Here are some pics taken from the actual listing:

Isn't that everything?!
Well, so, inspired by one or other, I dug through some of my very vintage treasures that my grandma gave me, that her mom gave her, that her mom gave her mom! Isn't that something?! I love things like this! This is why I decided to make my own treasury chest and keep all of these things along with some of my own treasures for my future kids! This is one more project into my big and heavy project book, but it's all good - my projects are my way to keep me busy so that I don't have to think too much about how I don't have any friends and how no one cares about me and how life sucks (haha, I sometimes tend to get into that silly kind of thing...).

Craving for more old things, I looked through two of the oldest books I have in my house. Both of them are there because they are so old, they are too much fun to just throw them away.

Then searching Etsy for inspirations I found this store! Just wanted to share, I think it is lovely!

Sushi, Pillows, and Humming Birds

Have you ever thought what humming birds do at night? They hibernate! Every night, can you imagine!? An geese have internal clock, so they know what time it is! I can't help but marvel at all the God's amazing creations! Isn't HE just the perfect Creator?!

I finished my first kitchen pillow today! I was too lazy to actually find out how it is SUPPOSE to be made, so I just went blah with it, and I kinda like the outcome... What do you think? Now remember I am a beginner, so don't be too rough...:)

I tried to tackle sushi rolling techniques today... Made a couple of California Rolls... If you want to make one you can find a recipe online, I am too lazy right now to write it out. However I would like to say that if you think it is difficult, it isn't really. You will need some special ingredients that you might need to go to an oriental market for, like special sticky sushi rice, wasabi, ginger, or the green sheets of sea weed...

I love to get nice things on mail. Today I got this inspirational card, because I donated money to the World Vision. You all should check it out!

And I got some of my soap making supplies. Tomorrow I will pick up the rest from this supplier in Vegas and start my project! Can't wait!

Hope everyone had not-so-tiring Monday!
